A US Air Force F-16 finished its performance with a bang last Thursday when it overran the runway at Wittman Airfield in Oshkosh, Wisconsin following an aerial display at AirVenture 2011. OPShots contributor Craig Maternowski was on the scene shortly after the incident and captured a pair of images that show the end result. You can read more about the incident here: https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/article/20110802/NEWS02/108020325/Cause-F-16-crash-remains-unknown

Needless to say, the aircraft sustained substantial damage when the nose gear collapsed and the engine ingested a large amount of soil as a result.  Thankfully the pilot was uninjured in the event, but it’s going to be one costly repair!
