About

What is OPShots? OPShots is the name I chose a number of years ago as a tag-line to my aviation photos that have been published on other websites and in such magazines as Airliner World, World Airline Fleets News, Airliners, and Airways.

Those of you who have seen my work elsewhere may wonder where the name came from, and here’s the scoop. I worked in the Operations center (we just called it “Ops”) for one of the major airlines at Cleveland Hopkins Airport in Cleveland Ohio, and when I started uploading my photos, OPShots seemed like a good name, and I’ve decided to stick with it.

OPShots has grown quite a bit since the early days when I was just looking for a place to put my pictures without an army of screeners picking them apart and telling me how bad they were! That was the incentive to start my own site, and now we feature photographers from all over the world and an ever expanding database.

OPShots is more than just photos; we are also an online aviation community with an active forums section with conversations on everything from flight levels to flight simulators. The forums are also where you will find the famous Geek Alerts section with all the latest info about inbound aircraft of interest at Hopkins and other area airports. Sign up and join in on the fun!

While you are here, be sure to visit our online store where you can purchase a variety of OPShots merchandise including t-shirts, baseball caps, bumper stickers and more. It’s a great way to show your OPShots pride and they also make great gifts!

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you enjoy the site!

Best,
