Someone linked this one over on ASB so I thought I'd share it here as well!

Now that's impressive!  I miss those big beautiful birds.  Good sound on that video too!  Thanks for sharing.

Wasn't Snort – two other guys – I heard their names once in the video I think.

Chuck – thanks!

Was Snort a famous F-14 jockey?  Is he the one that did the carrier fly-by?

Dale "Snort" Snodgrass.  He has more hours in the F-14 than anyone and the pilot of the famous carrier fly by.  Seems like a cool guy, lots of info on the internet about him.

Snort – CAPT Dale Snodgrass is a legend…  Here's a video of a talk he gave at Air and Space in DC.  It's on the long side but well worth it!

He is one of the originators of the Navy's Legacy flights – a current day fighter paired up with a Navy warbird.  As Commander, Fighter Wings Atlantic he flew the "Flight of the Twin-engined Cats" which was a Tomcat paired up with an F7F Tigercat.  These first dissimilar formation flights lead to the Air Force picking up the idea for it's Heritage Flight Program.  Snort is currently a solo pilot on the Black Diamond Jet Team flying a MiG-17.
