Is there a way that I can find out the registry number of an aircraft from the tracking screen? I want to find out the number of the United 777 that I flew into Frankfurt on Saturday. Flight 932 arriving Saturday afternoon.

Thanks.

Doug

"SPOTTERS" answers your question  as N791UA  Copy and paste this link You need to be a member to view our links..

You can also use United's own website as long as it is within 2 days of departure EG. Tonight I tried and could only go back o Saturday nights departure from Washington. As it happens, it was the same plane. You can work back to see where it came from and it operated 933 Sat from Frankfurt.

With Flight Aware you have to enter the tail number to find out flight history. That can be a lot of tail numbers until you find the right one. Entering N791UA as tail number will bring up flight history showing Dulles to Frankfurt Flt.932 on Friday 20th Sep.

Cool.

I went there and tried it, but it wouldn't recognize Flt 932. I entered the date, "UA" under airline code, and "932" under Flight Number, but it kept coming back as "930002 could not be found!" I don't know why it added the three 0's to the flight number because that's not what I put in.

If I just put in the date and "UA," then I get a huge list of UA flights starting at UA0001. That list shows "UA0932 = N786UA logged @ 07:56 GMT (1437)." That went to Kuwait as UA982 22 minutes after we left.Frown

I tried finding the United Express flight we took (4944) on that same date, and it doesn't list it at all. That was on a DH8D/G N380NG.

Beats me. Maybe it's operator error. Wink

Just realized that I didn't get the number of 738 we flew from EWR to CLE. All I got was the number on the nosegear door of 0208. It was flight 1466 departing about 1356 hrs. 0208 doesn't show up as a valid number. I can't figure out where that number comes from on this list.

0208 0n nosegear door is N26208 a Boeing 737-800. Internal United Fleet numbers do not show up anywhere on Airfleets. There is a close correlation between Fleet number and tail numbers

eg Todays Flight UA1638 from EWR to CLE due 5.01pm is showing Fleet Number 3733 on United.com This is Boeing 737-700 N27733 and todays UA1235 from AUS to IAH due 6.10pm shows fleet number 3817 This is a Boeing 737-900 N68817

Todays UA662 from SAN to SFO expected 9.19am shows fleet number 4007 which is A319 N807UA and finally todays UA 766 from JFK to SFO is allocated Fleet number 5310 which is Boeing 757-200  N510UA.

You can work out fleet numbers for all larger jets quite easily United Express smaller jets are a little trickier but can be worked out
