Hello!

I am new on this site and wanted to ask some of you guys about CAK and what kind of aircraft come in there. Where are the best spots to take photos there?

Thanks

Bela

Welcome to Opshots!

Sorry I didn't get to you sooner I haven't had a whole lot of time lately.  Are you from the CAK area? As far as spotting goes CAK can be kinda tricky to get a good shot sometimes. The best spots I think are a little parking lot beside the fighter group restaurant but not till at least OCT due to runway 1-19 being closed for construction. There is also a road and a hill beside the approach end of runway 5 that are good for morning arrivals and departures. This road also leads to the otherside of runway 1 that is a good spot for afternoon arrivals and departures. As for the the approach end of 23 there is a road called winning way and this a good spot almost any time of day. The approach end of 19 I wouldnt hang around hear to much due to the fact there is a sheriff training center there. I have not been bothered by law enforcment to much but I do work at CAK so they know who I am for the most part.

You can expect to see good verity of aircraft Airtran flies the Boeing 717 and 737. Delta brings in a MD-88 and a slew of CRJ-200s 700s and every once in a while they have a 900. Frontier has Airbus 318 319 and 320. US air (PSA) has CRJ-200s and 700s. United has a few EMB-145s. and there is some military flights and some businesses and privet flights at any given point.

Hope this helps if you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message.

Thank You Gary. I do not live around CAK but my in laws do and I go there pretty frequently. It sounds like it has a little bit of variety from CLE. I live on the east side, so I go out to CLE sometimes. Never been to CAK. Anyways thanks again for the info. I will definitely try it out.
