I've always wanted to see the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, as well as countless other things in NYC, so I'm finally going.  I've been there several times, but only for layovers and have never left the airport!  We've booked a room with a view of EWR (it was tons cheaper than one with a view of JFK), tickets to The Lion King on Broadway (hence the need for the cheaper hotel), and 5 days of peace and quiet with ample R&R!

Have fun!  New York is awesome.  I went to the Rock and the Broadway shows a few years ago.  The city truly never sleeps.  Good times.

Give me the "Miracle Mile" in downtown Chicago any day! The lights are beautiful and it much more user friendly...hehehe. NYC would be great too, but try Chicago as well.

Oh my goodness, there's sooooo much to see and do!  And not to mention trying to get in some decent spotting as well!

We're going to the moma for sure, though the amnh has crossed my mind, too!  And of course, being a Mac junkie, I absolutely must visit the Apple store!  One thing I can't decide: which is worse...the price of Broadway tickets, or that I actually paid it!  I usually grumble if tickets to local shows are over $20!  This is going to be some much needed time away and I'm very much looking forward to it.

I love New York too...I spent a lot of time there when I was based at Newark.  I would ride the path train and get off on Christoper Street, walk through the village, and go from there!  I've visited other times as well.  There's nothing like Times Square at night! (Nothing I've experienced, anyway!)

You're gonna love it...just don't get swept away in the sea of humanity.  It can be easy to get separated, but hard to get reconnected!

Peace and quiet is not what comes to mind when I think of New York.  :icon_tongue:

Have a great time.

I just checked in about an hour ago at our hotel overlooking EWR.  I'm already seeing lots of exciting a/c coming in and wish I could get a decent night-time shot!  I can't wait for morning!
