Anyone see this article in the PD?

If true, tt does not bode well for the CLE hub. I guess deep down, I don't think the hub will remain for more than another year or so, but I sure hope I'm mistaken.

At this point all is taken with a grain of salt in my book. I wll believe it when I see it.

I'd also go along with a slow draw down as the worst likely course of action.  There are better possibilities, but, as Jeff Smisek Groucho Marx said, "Who are you gonna believe? Me or your own eyes?"

I'm not going to fret about it...too much else to worry about all the moment!  Here's the reply from CO management today:

I think it is inevitable to have a drawn down and would predict that CO Express & CO Connection operations get hit hardest, which sucks for those employees.    I also think there may be some interesting changes on the mainline side of the equation, perhaps even for the better (different equipment, increased frequencies to big cities).

Well, Hitler denied that he would ever attack Russia.

If any decision involves the City, I'm sure the City will screw it up somehow, and cause Cont/UA to pull out.

I hope not. It would really suck. CLE seems pretty dead sometimes as it is right now.

I hate to see it happen, but mergers always mean less, not more.  Which means that the "excess" will get let go after the merger...airplanes, employees, hubs, offices, etc.  CO+UA can promise that CLE won't see that much change, but I sense a CVG goona happen in the future.  I hate to be a pessimist, but usually, the pessimist is right.  I will believe the "new UA" when I see it, and in the meantime, hope that CLE only gets larger, not smaller, if not, de-hubbed.
