Has anyone else heard the rumor that AA will soon be moving operations to the C concourse at CLE? They have been on A (and the old North Concourse) for as long as I can remember. I've heard they will take the low odd-numbered gates from UA (C3, C5, C7, C9, C11). But that would amount to a net loss of 1 gate vs. what AA currently has on A (3 former AA and 3 from US gates). Also, they just updated and expanded their ticket counter on the far north end of the terminal and use baggage carrousel #1. I wonder if they will move these to a closer location to their new gates.

UA will apparently consolidate all operations at the far end of C (around the United Club). This will entail a longer walk for all the local O & D passengers. I've noticed the past several days that most of UA's flights have operated out of C17-C29 (with an occasional flight at C10).

I wonder what the plans are for C6, C8, C14? Might jetBlue take another gate or two? I also wonder what will happen with the empty gates on A? Finally, WN has taken on B7 (although I'm not sure if they have actually started using it yet). Maybe they will finally start expanding some at CLE with 5 gates? WN typically runs about 10 flights a day/gate so they have the capacity to more than double service at CLE.

We'll see what other changes 2016 brings (maybe another new airline, like Virgin America or Alaska or transatlantic service of some sort-I can always dream).

I believe C6 is now an airport-designated common-use gate, available for JetBlue use in the event they have two planes on the ground at once. Two-on-the-ground probably isn't a huge risk with only four departures, but maybe they'll add a couple of JFK flights one of these days.  Cool

UA renegotiates, reduces and extends gate leases on C, confirms continued payment for D and extends lease on United Club, all through 2029. Gate shuffle may be finalized by May 2016.
