My brother and I will be heading down for practice day on Friday. Anyone else heading down? Maybe we can all meet?

I didn't go downtown last year, but I know some of you did. My understanding is that they pushed everyone back to the line on the image below.

Question: Is the Mather open during this time? It might be worth paying to get on her during practice and head for the stern. What about the area encircled?

Does anyone know if the lot with a "?" is open for public parking? How much?

Thanks!!!

Don

Last year they had the park open if I remember correctly on Friday up a little farther than your line, then they had cars parked to the end of the pier.  They had a festival or something that day.  Couldn't tell you about the weekend though or the other stuff.

I just found out that I got the day off on Friday, so I will definitely be someplace down there.

Where I have no idea.

The mather should be open that day. You can contact them to find out for sure though. Your line should be drawn down to across from the GoodTime 3. That is the last place where you can officially hang out according to the FAA the rest of the joint behind the GoodTime 3 is a restricted area, you could park your car there but could not hang out there. It was funny since there was a event of some sort going on in the park past the GoodTime and they were allowed to be in the no hang out zone. I heard there is another event at this park this year for George Voinivich that may close the whole pier. Not sure how true it is though as they will still need to let cars park for the GoodTime unless they have rented that for the day for the party as well. I plan I heading down to the park early. Last year they opened around 7ish or 8ish in the morning if memory serves me correctly.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Just watched the latest report on the Weather Channel. Scattered T-storms and 76 on Friday. Reports just keep getting worse.  :(

Originally, the entire period for the AS was going to be sunny and dry.

Yeah I saw that, but the upside is it will be nice and cool for the weekend.

I've been keeping an eye on the weather too.  The showers forecast for Thursday moved to Friday and now there's a 30% chance of rain on Saturday as well.  We'll see I guess - usually 72hrs out is when the forecast gets more accurate.
