Well...I am certainly out-voted on this one, but something still doesn't look right to me! Regardless, it's an awesome snapshot of 1970's metal, and I like it! |

Well my two cents is it is a lot of heavy old iron! Nice shot! |

Well outta my nerdiosity I scanned thru 751 pics of JFK in the 70's on the other site..No Iberia DC-8 pics after 1971..The Iberia plane pictured here is turned the opposite way and not actually parked between the Sabena and Air India like it may seem but further away on a separate terminal...This pic is the same angle and matches well, and you can see the split 747 tail in it..So I say 747! http://www.airliners.net/photo/Alitalia/Boeing-747-143/0730970/L/&sid=d3a6c65eef9dd92ab79a74ff3e602608 |

In addition, the DC8 tail is only 2/3 the height of the B747... |

My humble opinion, no way this is a DC8, the shape and form of the tail and logo does not fit the dimensions of the old Douglas. I will research more on this, but my vote goes for the ole Jumbo Jet. Sorry Chuck. |

Gotta throw my two cents in and go with 9 747's and the 2 707's. Nice shot as always. |

Naahhhh...can't be! It appears to be parked between the Air India and the Sabena...and it looks too small and the sweep is wrong! I'm sticking with the DC-8! ;-) |

OK I looked up some slides i have of an Iberia DC-8 and 747.. The DC-8s logo is in the front bottom part of the tail where the 747 the logo is right in the middle of the tail..I believe thats a 747 in the photo, making 9 747s ..wow!!!! |

You got a good dialogue going on here NwFedEX757, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I can`t make out a 747 split rudder with my laptop? on 747 in question. |

Hmmm..That Iberia tail looks pretty fat for a DC-8..I'm thinking 9 747's |

Hmmm...I sure don't see 9 747's. I'm pretty sure that one between Sabena and Air India is an Iberia DC-8...but I could be wrong! |

I count 9 747`s , two 707`s and 1 unidentified light twin or trijet (T-tail) in background |
