N768NC (cn 47729) June 2 marked the start of Delta Airlines retiring the DC-9-50 from the fleet..The first aircraft to be retired was N768NC which was acquired in the merger with Northwest... This aircraft was mfg. in 3-2-1977 and was delivered to North Central Airlines...Heres N768NC in DTW in Republic's last color scheme before joining up with Northwest..After flying for 34 years it is now stored at Pinal Air Park (MZJ)..sadly another era about to end!

This brings back memories. But did anyone REALLY ever like this Republic livery? It's just so drab. There's really no logo at all. I liked the post-Southern merger livery that kept NC's Herman the Duck!
