N14933 (cn 145018) This ExpressJet E145 has just pushed off of C-18 and the ramp crew awaits the signal for a wave-off. You can see the four brightly yellow painted vortilons on the leading edge of the Embraer's wing. These help improve stability at low speeds and high angles of attack in lieu of more complex and heavy leading edge devices such as slats. You really don't want to get too close to those as they are quite sharp and you could easily slice your head open if you were unfortunate enough to make contact. January 12, 2008
