| 68-0220 (cn 500-23) Pardon the quality but here's one from way back taken with a Pentax K1000 and scanned into my computer. I caught this C-5A Galaxy, the 23rd C-5 delivered to the USAF, at Chanute AFB, Illinois in June, 1982. This was the original paint scheme for the C-5's. One can only imagine the amount of cargo and number of personnel delivered around the globe during its service from 1970 to 2013. Like most bases I served throughout my career in the USAF, Chanute AFB, located in Rantoul, Illinois has been closed. | |||
