N461US (cn 18797) I loved this delivery NW scheme. From my postcard collection, the back reads: "Phase of Flight-Climbing south of Ranier. Northwest ordered 20 (N461US-N480US) of the pictured 727-51 model of the 727-100 and 12 (N488US-N499US) of the convertible freighter 727-51C model. N461US was the first delivered to NW on November 12, 1964 and along with N462US introduced 727 service for NW on December 15, 1964 on the CLE-ORD-MSP and MSP-ORD-MIA routes. N461US is framed by Boeing in the original delivery colors." |

N413EX (cn 19206) Delivered to Northwest Orient in 1966 as N495US, this 727 is pictured here on the far south cargo ramp in August 1998, and is being loaded with overnight mail to take to the Indianapolis sorting facility. Re-registered as D2-FFB, this frame went on to fly with Planar and Angola Air Charter before being reported derelict/scrapped at Luanda's 4 de Fevereiro airport (LAD)in Angola. The USPS no longer flies its own mail. |

N413EX (cn 19206) Wearing what was the new postal scheme at the time, this 727 takes on some mail near the AMF (airport mail facility) on a hot August night. Last reported exported to Angola, I can find no further info on this airframe. August 1998 |
