Also note the Capital Viscount, and United Convair back by the hangars. Most noteworthy is the Northwest Airlines Boeing B377 in the background. NW operated the B377 from CLE to MDW back in the day. | |||

Used by NACA (later to become NASA in 1958) to study ice formation on aircraft, the ice recorder switch can be seen just over the left portion of the yoke. This DC-6 was another aircraft used by NACA to test icing conditions while flying normal revenue trips with United Airlines.
