N3906J (cn 43344) Taking runway 12 for departure on a Miami morning, it's sad that after 62 years in the air, it would only be four months after this photo that this beautiful classic would crash on the streets outside of Fort Lauderdale's Executive airport on June 13, 2005, fortunately without a loss of lives. An account of the crash can be found here: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20050613-0

N3906J (cn 43344) What a beauty...it's a shame that after 62 years of flying, it would only be four months after this shot that this aircraft would crash on departure from Fort Lauderdale's Executive airport on June 13, 2005. In spite of a spectacular fiery crash, there were no deaths in the incident. The pilots heroically managed to steer the plane away from houses and onto NE 56th Street, and when you see the crash photos, it's amazing even they survived.

N3906J (cn 43344) A nice view of this beauty as she prepares for departure. Sadly, this aircraft crashed in Fort Lauderdale on June 13, 2005, upon departure from Executive Airport. Fortunately, no lives were lost, and the pilots apparently steered the aircraft clear of the houses in a residential neighborhood, coming down on the street. February 21, 2005
