| RA-86570 (cn 1356344) IL-62M of the Russian Ministry for Civil Aid and Protection, in Cleveland in support of the Azerbaijan Government who's ailing leader, President Geidar Aliev was undergoing emergency surgery for congestive heart failure and kidney problems at the Cleveland Clinic (where he had bypass surgery in 1999.) He passed away in Cleveland shortly thereafter. ( This is the only IL-62 I've seen in Cleveland in my 45 years.) August 7, 2003 | |||

| RA-86570 (cn 1356344) The four engined IL-62 was the principal long-range airliner of the former Soviet Union for many years before being replaced with more efficient equipment. This example is used as a VIP transport, and is still active today as a governmental support aircraft. The only IL-62 I've ever seen at Cleveland, this Russian beauty is pictured as it sits on the Air Services ramp on August 7, 2003 during an official visit. August 7, 2003 | |||
