162589 (cn 511) F-14A AD-161 from VF-101 "The Grim Reapers" taxis to its spot on the demo ramp. This aircraft performed all 3 days of the CLE Air Show. Ironically, while the ground display featured the Upgraded F-14B and top of the line F-14D, it was left to this old tired F-14A to perform the flying demo. Because of the lower rated thrust engines, the F-14A demonstration was different from that flown by F-14B or F-14D aircraft. VF-101 was the training squadron for all F-14 pilots, and flew all 3 versions of the Tomcat to train pilots for their specific aircraft assignments.

In 2002, this aircraft was again converted, from a "B" (seen here) to a "C" version, and was given a special repaint in the original MAC gray and white colors it wore on its historical Vietnam mission. This aircraft was subsequently retired to the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio on 5/6/06.

66-0177 (cn 300-6203) Perhaps the most famous C-141 arrives at BKL for the 1998 Cleveland Airshow. This aircraft was named the Hanoi Taxi- on 2/12/73 this C-141 (Then a C-141A, shorter version) returned the first POW's home from Hanoi. The aircraft is seen in the markings of the 445th AW, based at WPAFB, Ohio.
