N136UP (cn 819) UPS Airbus misses a turn on to taxiway Romeo during extremely poor visibility. Eventually pulled out after about 16 hours. Hats off to all of the ground crews that worked in the bitter cold to remove the a/c.

N136UP (cn 819) (Best at 1152.) At the end of the day, it was Rich's Towing who came to the rescue of this stricken Airbus which spent the day stuck in the grass at the end of taxiway bravo. After several failed attempts using airport tugs to free the bird, it was determined that calling Rich's in was the best idea. Rich's are experts at heavy and unusual tows, and are often called upon when heavy metal needs to be moved.

None (cn None) (Best at 1152 size.) Although it was cloudy all day, the sun peeked below the clouds at sunset giving off some beautiful light and accenting the icicles on the light poles. If you look really hard, you can see a Continental 737-800 taxiing out for departure as well as snow removal crews working on taxiway lima.

N136UP (cn 819) I'm still a little confused as to exactly the spot he was at, but this view gives you a better idea of just how deeply the main gear bogies were sunk into the mud. I don't know how, but the nose gear didn't seem to be involved in this excursion.

N136UP (cn 819) With crews from Continental and FedEx on the scene to assist in any way they can, a brainstorming session is in progress about how they can free this UPS A300 after an unfortunate taxiing incident the night before left them mired in the mud. It was nice to see the cooperate effort from everyone involved.

N136UP (cn 819) (Best at 1152 size.) It sure looks purdy, but it's where it shouldn't oughta be! Last night, this unfortunate Airbus was on its way out for departure when it missed a turn in the snow and wound up off the taxiway. With its mains stuck in the soil, it spent the night and most of the day in this spot until finally getting freed near six o'clock this evening.
