	Multiple (cn Multiple) Taken with a normal lens in July of 1981, this gives a view of the airport seen from the north side of Brookpark Road. Years before, you would park right up next to the fence, but once they opened the area up on the north side of the road, parking along the fence was prohibited. (Sounds like 2013!) Visible on take off is a Air Wisconsin Dash-7, and at the gate is a US Air DC-9, Trans America DC-10, New York Air DC-9 and an American 727. A nice variety of aircraft, all standard stuff for the time period. Many a car got stuck along the fence line when it rained, it was like driving on the moon.

	Unknown (cn Unknown) Scanned from a print I took in July 1981 with my old camera, this shot gives an idea of the crude observation area open to the public on the north side of Brookpark Road. Throw in some rain, and this lot was a mess. Still, it provided a place to watch airplanes close to the action.

	Unknown (cn Unknown) The Army National Guard used to maintain a presence at CLE, flying the UH-1 Iroquis (Huey)in medivac duties. This pic was scanned from a 30 year old photo I took in July of 1981. The olive drab camo made picking up the s/n impossible. The west side of the airport sure looked different back then! Even in 1981 I had unrestricted ramp access just by asking around. Sadly, that access will never happen again.
