| 66-0006 In the ten minutes I stopped to get photos of two Galaxy's on ramp at WPAFB, I was lucky enough to catch this one leaving from runway 05L. This visitor to the Dayton area is from the "Patriot Wing", the 439th Airlift Wing at Westover AFB in Massachusetts. They even have the logo of the NFL's New England Patriots in the blue field on the tail. | |||

This aircraft became famous on February 12, 1973 when it landed at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi, North Vietnam, to repatriate 40 American POW's. A second trip brought out 38 more plus 2 civilians. In May 2004 it made a third trip to Vietnam to repatriate the remains of 2 American service members killed in action. | |||
