N57016 (cn 28679) Bye bye birdie! This diversion from Hong Kong lifts off for its intended destination of Newark (EWR/KEWR) NJ, which was experiencing some bad weather, causing this 777 to land here to take on some extra fuel.

N57016 / N266WN (cn 28679) Lined up for a 24L departure, this Continental 777 diverted to Cleveland on its way to Newark from Hong Kong due to bad weather at its destination. After topping off the fuel tanks and servicing the lavs, flight 98 departed for New Jersey in less than an hour after it arrived. In the foreground we have Southwest's N266WN, and a Continental Express E-145, N13979.

N57016 (cn 28679) After a long flight over the top of the globe, this Continental 777 couldn't make it into its intended destination of Newark (EWR/KEWR)NJ on its flight from Hong Kong due to bad weather, so it diverted to Cleveland for some extra fuel before continuing on. Showing that even the mighty Triple Seven isn't immune to the weather, the crew battles some pretty strong crosswinds as it is about to land on 24L.
