N122VC (cn 18502203) The takeoffs on Lake Hood are all done in a curve, starting at either end of the Lake Hood/Lake Spenard complex, then curving down the takeoff channel to complete the takeoff. The seaplane base was actually two separate lakes at one time, Lake Hood and Lake Spenard, but a channel connecting the two was built in 1940 greatly increasing the takeoff space available. On another note, I thought I had a severe case of the "jaggies" on the leading edge, but as it turns out, those protuberances are actually there, now I have to find out why!
