N141WE (cn 46661) Japan Airlines and Northwest Orient were the only two airlines to order the long range DC-10-40 variant which was powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D-20 engines. A larger tail intake is the easiest way to tell this rare bird from the others in the family. This one is former JAL, and I believe it has since been retired. |
