I don't know, but I kinda like the look of this one.

I just hope that I can figure out how to read all the new posts t hat I haven't seen since the last time I was on.

Figured it out.

One thing I just noticed though. On new threads that I was just going to and reading, the screen would open up to the second post instead of the first post. I had to scroll back up to the it.

We have done a lot of research and use to have phpbb a long time ago. Well it became ridden with security holes and then we went to SMF and the updates stopped since that group had a feud in its ranks. Then SMF became a hog because of all the attachments and other things we did not monitor as well as we should. To many security holes once again. So we decided on a simple but still has some frills forum that we use today! Cool

I'm not an admin anymore, but a couple of other sites I belong to use PHPbb without issues. Any GUI that lets me quickly see and read they new posts since my last visit is the one I am in favor of.

Simple-press integrates with word press right out of the box. All other forums do not without editing core code. We are not interested in editing core code anymore. Simple-press also allows to see unread or new posts just the sane as the others. And it does all of this at half the headache in space and php memory as the others. Phpbb is great just not for us. We simply cannot afford anymore server upgrades at the time being.

I'm afraid I can't add much to the technical jargon, but I have to admit that I really like this latest format!  It's a lot like the ones we had when I joined over a year ago.  There's a button (albeit small) to see new posts since one's last visit; links open in a new window instead of advancing the current window and leaving OPShots.  On the topic of links, when we include them here, they're not censored (not mentioning any names, but their initials are a.net).  We can add html code, which makes me assume pictures can be added, as well as image URL's.  I don't see any advertisement banners in the middle or on the sides and the annoying thing that a lot of forums do with "key words" in the text being hi-lighted/underlined and having a tiny little advertisement or whatever pop up when you hover over them (what's that called anyway?  That's so annoying!).  I'm going to have to do a little fishing to learn my way around on the new format, but I think I can manage.  Works for me!  Keep up the good work, Chuck and Mark!

I still like this setup.

This is the first chance that I've had to get back online in about a week. The one thing I noticed is when I click on the new/recently updated topics, it takes me to the very last message instead of the first.

Is this what it is supposed to do?

Yes, that would be the most recent post in the said topic.
