155895 (cn 3548) Photographed in 1972 at the Cleveland Air Show, note the names on this F-4J canopy rail- Lt Randy Cunningham and Lt(jg) Willie Driscoll- first US Aces of the Vietnam war. They shot down three Migs on 5/10/72 in F-4J s/n 155800, making 5 total for them, and then were hit by a SAM and had to eject. They were recovered, and were sent on a U.S. goodwill tour, including the Cleveland Airshow in this VF-96 F-4J s/n 155895. I am pretty sure I got to meet both pilots. The print is yellow because I had this photo pinned up in my room as a kid. I hope somebody out there got a full picture of this jet! I got a lot of mileage out that little instamatic camera!

Lt Randy Cunningham later became a US Representative from California but is now serving a 8 year sentence for numerous fraud & bribery charges. It's a shame what money can do to a such a fine pilot (person) !!!

I don't remember this one!!! I was at the '72 airshow according to the Super 8 film that my dad shot. I'm very familiar with the historical significance of the pilots. Wow! I am in awe. Thanks! How cool is that?!
