| Unknown (cn Unknown) A scanned photo of a rarely observed aerial refueling of a General Dynamics EF-111A Raven from the 42nd Electronic Countermeasure Squadron at RAF Upper Heyford, 20th Tactical Fighter Wing, UK. In March of 1987 I was fortunate to have been selected to go on an incentive aerial refueling mission over the North Sea. A KC-135E from the Tennessee Air National Guard was on assignment for 2-weeks and conducted several refueling missions. The photo was originally shot from a borrowed Canon AE-1 while lying on my stomach in the fueling station at the rear of the KC-135 at 40,000+ feet. Look closely at the square fueling inlet (illuminated) slightly left of aircraft centerline. |
