N675HP (cn 20800289) Some sixty miles west of Anchorage, we circle within the valley of the Triumvirate glacier before landing on remote Beluga Lake during a flight-seeing tour paid for by my family for my 50th birthday. Thanks again! |

N2740X (cn 579) With its cowling off, this Beaver shows off its beautiful radial engine while undergoing some maintenance inside the Rust's hangar. No worries though, this plane would be busy flying the next day. Don't ask about the truck... |

N2740X / N675HP (cn 579) Approximately 50 years separate these two Rust's aircraft, brought together in one moment as they await for another plane to depart so they can both be brought to berth at Rust's base. |

N2899J / N310NR (cn 425) In the big scheme of things, DeHavilland Beavers are pretty rare. DeHavilland Otters, even rarer...to get both in one shot? Pretty awesome! Lake Hood is probably one of the few places in the world where such a shot is still possible, especially on the Rust's Flying Service docks (although that's not what we see here.) |

N2899J (cn 425) This Rust's Turbine Otter is splashing down in the south channel at Lake Hood. Visiting this sea and bushplane base was one of the coolest experiences you could ever have...the action is non-stop, loud, and very exciting...add it to your bucket list! |

N675HP (cn 20800289) 58 1/2 statute miles WNW of Anchorage lies Beluga Lake, a glacial lake created by the Triumvirate Glacier, a stopover on my flightseeing trip in this Rust's Caravan. It was unearthly quiet up here, almost as though sound was actually soaked up by the earth...quite surreal. |

N2899J (cn 425) The first of a couple teasers for you guys! Just landed on Lake Hood, this Otter was built in 1961 which, coincidentally, is the same year I was born making us both 50 years old! Quite appropriate since this is my big birthday trip and I will be flying with these guys tomorrow on a flightseeing tour! They have a variety of aircraft in their fleet, so I don't know if I'll be on this beauty or not. |
