TI-BBG (cn 208B0572) Parked outside the Sansa terminal at San Jose/Alajeula, this Caravan shows off its tail feathers based on the wing feathers of the Scarlet and Blue Macaw, a large indigenous parrot native to the area. Since this time, the planes have been repainted to more closely represent their association with TACA.

TI-BAN (cn 208B0710) On short final to La Managua in Quepos, Costa Rica (XQP/MRQP), we pass over palm oil plantations that only stop to make room for the runway. Just beyond the hills lies the Pacific Ocean, a tropical paradise, and the gateway to Manuel Antonio National Park.

TI-BAN (cn 208B0710) Four years ago from this very day, I was sitting in the Sansa terminal at San Jose, Costa Rica awaiting my ride to Quepos, an old fishing village situated on the Pacific coast, and an increasingly popular tourist destination. This turned out to be one of the most memorable and best vacations of my life! I shot this photo from inside the tiny Sansa terminal as my friend and I greeted the arrival of the aircraft that would take us to paradise.

TI-AZU (cn 208B0640) (Best to view at 1152.) Turning out for departure, this Sansa Caravan is headed back to San Jose, from where I had arrived just a short while ago aboard another Sansa Caravan. Since my first time in the tropical paradise of Quepos Costa Rica, La Managua airport had upgraded its services with an actual paved runway and upgraded "terminal" facilities.

TI-AZU (cn 208B0640) Feeling tropical? This Caravan has just arrived from San Jose with a load of excited tourists visiting this beautiful paradise. Quepos' runway is a one-way runway due to the jungle on this end, with arrivals coming in one direction and departing in the opposite direction.

None (cn None) The outside of the Sansa terminal in San Jose may seem a bit scary by US standards, but rest assured the operation is a safe and professional one I wouldn\\\'t hesitate to fly on again. All the people we encountered were friendly, efficient, and committed to safety. March 8, 2007
