N94253 (cn 114) An American Airlines Convair 240 at its gate on the A concourse in October 1963. In addition to the Convair, you can also see a Northwest L-188 Electra and an American 707 at the gates. In later years, this Convair was modified to 600 status with Rolls Royce Dart engines, and went on to fly with Texas International, and served a number of cargo carriers after even further conversion. It was in this cargo form that it was lost in a landing accident during August 1989 in Augusta Maine. rnrnPhoto courtesy of the Stefano Pagiola Collection |
