| N47457 (cn 212) United Airlines Viscount 745D seen at Atlanta in this postcard shot from my collection. I loved the Visount- had the opportunity to see a lot of these at CLE as a youngster. The caption on the back of this postcard reads:rn\\\"Capital Airlines ordered 60 of the new turboprop in 1954, adding a few more later. The first was delivered on June 16, 1955. CA placed it into service on July 26, 1955 between DCA and MDW. On June 1, 1961, United took over Capital and 41 of their Viscounts, returning 15 to Vickers (they later took 6 back). The large fleet was operated until January 14, 1969 when the last was retired. N7457 was sold to TACA on Febraury 24, 1969 as YS-28C.rn | |||
