N601US (cn 19778) Operating a charter in the last days of its long and active life, this was Northwest's very first 747, and the last of their -100 series 747's to be retired. Pictured making the turn over spot two for the backside of the C concourse. Retired only a couple months after this photo was taken on 9/25/2000, it was broken up in Maxton North Carolina, and the nose section is on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. Not the best shot, but an interesting subject. |

Pictured between the C and D concourses, it was a very tight fit for this aircraft at an airport that sees precious few widebodies. Retired only a couple months after this photo was taken on 9/25/2000, it was broken up in Maxton North Carolina, and the nose section is on display at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington DC. 2000 |
