I remember this! My brother and I heard about it and drove back there to check it out. Didnt think we'd be able to get very close, but we were able to get right up to that fence where you could watch the 5R ops.

There was another Britt Metro that same year that landed on a runway here that had barricades up. It took some damage and was taken to what is now Continental's 737 hangar for some time. I walked in there and checked it out.
