Unknown (cn Unknown) Blue Angel #3 deploys his drag chute upon landing at Burke. The A-4 was designed to catch a cable on a carrier, or land at Naval bases with 9,000 ft runways- neither which required strong brakes. Since the Blues would fly out of many civilian airports with shorter runways, they added the drag chute to their aircraft to assure safe landing parameters.
